About Sirona care & health

Sirona care & health is a not-for-profit social enterprise funded by the NHS and local authorities. They are innovative in the way they deliver services to people and adopt the latest techniques in health and social care. This approach helps to promote safe and high-quality services to meet the needs of people, their families and their carers.

The Challenge

As the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, Sirona needed a speedy and reliable method to get vital information to the front line teams. This information was changing on a daily basis, it needed to be easily deployed and quickly engaged with by the frontline teams, whose priorities were dealing with patients not spending hours reading information.
Wendy Best – Head of Communications, Media and Public Relations explained “We needed to ensure staff had the latest information to be able to deliver safe care as quickly as possible. This included messages to support their wellbeing and important information from our Chief Executive. The OurPeople App enabled us to do this and we were set up and running within 48 hours. The engagement with staff has been quite phenomenal. We are able to load key files on to the app securely so staff can access them when they need them.”

About OurPeople NOW

OurPeople Now, which can be deployed within days, enables managers of frontline services and other health sector workers to send vital comms, including images and files, to doctors, nurses, ancillary staff and care workers, alerting them to critical information and any changes to their working practices. Communication can be targeted, ensuring information is relevant, and will help to keep teams operational and informed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wendy says ‘We have been really impressed by the speed of set-up, less than 48 hours, and the resulting level of engagement we have seen from our staff in such a short space of time. Requests to be part of the App are coming in daily due to word-of-mouth recommendation from colleagues.’

Sirona’s usage stats after 3 weeks of adoption were the highest ever seen, the average engagement* per broadcast across all our customers pre-lockdown compared to postlockdown  increased 1000%. Sirona had engagement stats per broadcast of 1750% compared to normal customer usage showing just how OurPeople NOW was helping our NHS heroes.

(*engagement is defined as the number of times a broadcast is viewed, read, file opened, video viewed etc)
