Acceptable Use Policy

This acceptable use policy explains how you can use the OurPeople Platform. By using the App and Console you agree to abide by this Policy.

What is not allowed

You may only use the App for lawful purposes. That means that your use must not be unlawful, have any fraudulent purpose or effect, and be as part of your employment. This means you may not use it for offering services or selling things.

Our standards

We want everyone to enjoy the use of the messaging system but we all need to respect each other. Accordingly, we ask that you comply with the spirit and the letter of the following standards.

Any statement must be:

  • accurate if it states facts that might be relied upon; and
  • if you state opinions, these should be genuinely held.

You must ensure that nothing in your content:

  • is rude about anyone;
  • is obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory,
  • contains or promotes sexually explicit material, violence, illegal activity or unlawful discrimination;
  • infringes any copyright, trade mark or other rights;
  • is likely to deceive, harass, alarm, annoy or invade the privacy of any person; or
  • misrepresents your identity or connection with anyone.

Your promise about content belonging to others

We must respect copyright and confidentiality. You promise to us that if you use videos, photos, audio or documents belonging to others, they will have agreed to this use. This means you shouldn’t upload audio or artwork you didn’t make, or use, content that someone else owns the copyright to, without necessary permissions.

Your privacy

We will only use any personal data we collect through your use of the App in the ways set out in our App Privacy Statement. Our App Privacy Statement tells you what personal data we collect from you and use in the App, what we do with it and who we may share it with. It is important that you read this document as it also sets out your rights in relation to the personal information that we hold about you.

We take the security of your information very seriously and have put into place appropriate measures to ensure the safety and security of any personal data that you or we input into the App. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that your Smartphone use to access the Services is adequately protected against threats or harmful programs.

The App is not designed to be used as a platform to share sensitive personal information (for example information about sickness, medical conditions, trade union membership) and therefore you should not input any sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else into the App.

Our decision

It is for us to decide whether there has been a breach of this acceptable use policy through your use of the App.

App Store rules

The ways in which you can use the App may also be controlled by the rules and policies of your Appstore. Their rules and policies will apply instead of these terms where there are differences between the two and so you should read these before use.

Updates to this policy

We may revise this acceptable use policy at any time by updating this page so please check it regularly.
